| Photos For Carlson |
[05 Jan 2010|12:55am] |
Here is a bunch of pics that wanted to send to Carlson in Canada. Rather than just email them i thought i would put them up here so everyone can see em.
Just came home from an AMAZING first show of Poy and roobs band, was so awesome, so many people and they ruled! so proud of poy, hes like an asian/ german bush poet dumped in the suburbs who thinks he belongs in the city while channelling the boss, cash and paul kelly. Love this time of year, everyone is in the mood to hang, great weather, fun times. Viva 2010
Some shots from around, also, my camera is waterproof, and recreating the nirvana baby shot is actually harder than it seems
miss ya carls!

Other than that i have just been busting out work here and trying to not spend too much money.

I feel like the internet is becoming a graveyard
things i used to check out on here have become boring. Myspace, LJ, blogs, forums. Email is just email, it doesnt count really
Bit of a bummer, but i cant speak to soon, i know i will fully sucked back into some other internet thing soon. Oh yeah, twitter, i guess i have kind of. But yeah.
In other news Mo is arriving on friday and I am more excited than i can express.
Also The Snowdroppers from sydney are my new fave band after i saw them play with Poys band at ding dong the other night, made me wish i was 22 years old, living in the 1920s in kentucky or something playing in a band in some speakeasy. So good
My parents are away, Europe for 2 and a half months. Ive hardly been at home really, i realised i only really come here to have dinner with them a few nights a week and as a place to sleep. Yet somehow the house gets really messy really quick when im here by myself. Better clean before friday
andddd im out
Oh yeah, I turn 25 this sunday. that kind of sucks.

I Cannot remember a time in my life when i didnt love the Goonies, actually, i cant remember a time when i didnt know what the Goonies was. Its always been with me, and always caught my imagination.
Last weekend i had the pleasure of taking a two hour road trip with my wonderful girlfriend Mo and visit Astoria Oregan, Home of the Goonies. Being in front of the house was one of the most surreal moments of my life. We also saw the Museum where Mikeys Dad works, the Jail where the Fratellies broke out and the bowling alley where chunk squashes his pizza and milkshake against the window.
Im heading to the airport in an hour. Flying out of Seattle to Boston. Then it goes roughly like this
Boston for 4 days. Bus to New York City. New york city for 4 days. Seeing The Bronx and Trash Talk Mo Arrives in NYC, Driving to Philidelphia, staying the night. Driving to Bethlehem staying the night, seeing Alkaline Trio Driving back to NYC, Mo leaves, I stay on for a few days. Trash Talk finish tour in New Jersey. They band flys out to Australia i think. The Roadie Ad Ross is coming to pick me up in NYC and we are driving across the country from New York back to Seattle. In Seattle for about 10 days. Fly to LA on the 10th of May. Meeting up with Mel Pack and Nat Perry, Hanging in Orange County, Parkway show In LA on the 12th, Earth Crisis in Hollywood with Web-yay on the 13th. Hanging out in general. Fly out of LAX on the 15th of May.
Back home on the 17th of May.
then Heading to Europe for 30 days on the 10th of June.
Im really excited to get back home, I have seen a lot of really inspiring stuff during my travels and am excited to work of some ideas that i have and generally appreciate the friends and opportunities that i have at home.

Still miss you all, but am having a blast. Last night i rode a bike 20 minutes through psudo ghetto to see Mike Vallely play to a bar with about 22 people in it. But i chatted with him for quite a while and it was seriously awesome. Long story, but ive been following him as a skater and personality since 1994 as far as i can remember from when i was in the states with my parents back then. Weird full circle shit going on in my life.
This was April 2005

This is March 2009

weird thing is, i dont really wear misfits shirts very much. And that was a total accident, didnt realise till i looked at the old shot. Im pleased with how i am aging though. hahaah
Ok. time to sleep, its 2.30 am
Bye friends

| last year stuff.. |
[01 Jan 2009|11:17pm] |
So uhh, happy neew year and stuff, just another night really.
Ive just packed all my stuff to leave tomorrow morning for the houseboat trip. I feel like back in primary school before school camp and you would pack all your stuff and get all excited and stuff. Its pretty much going to be exactly like that i just have more chest hair now than i did in primary school.
so anyway, hers some pics from the couple of days before new years. Ill have a full house boat wrap up on here after the trip.
Xmas present to Mum and Dad this year was a painting for their beach house at Torquay. They were stoked, although they dont really look it here. Xmas day.

Here it is hanging in the house, i forgot how big that wall is, im pretty happy with how it ended up looking.

I stopped in at the beachhouse on my way to falls festival where i was driving for a dude called Donavan Frankenreiter, he was actually pretty god, surfer style funky beach rock stuff, easy listening.
I drove this 3 tonne truck, which was a new exxperiance, i usually only do vans.
Donovan and band onstage. Killer Pants duuuuuude, he has a hulk hogan goes copa cabana vibe happening

festival crowds, when i went in 03/04 it was such a dirty hippy crowd, all the girls were pretty gross, now i felt like i was in a walking general pants catalogue, hot babes everywhere, with an equal amount of buff metro dudes pinging off their brains, loads of southern cross tatts, and the obligitory dreadlocks here and there.

Best of all was that true life babes Tegan and Sara were playing right after donovan, i met them and they were lovely, and i had an awesome view to watch the set, im missing there show here cos im on the houseboat, so it rules that i got to see them.

After they played i loaded up the truck and head back home, it is a really nice drive along the great ocean road, but id prefer not doing it in a huge truck with 50k worth of fragile music gear in the back. I should make better use of the beach house here in 2009 i think.

Im setting myself some goals and challenges for 2009, nothing really unachievable, but im looking forward to working hard to be happy, healthy and new experiances that im hoping to gain once i head off on this trip.
25 this year, well, not till august, but its a scary thought. But exciting year ahead.

| The Bronx, The Barbie, The Boys, The Wall and missing The Don Bomb, |
[28 Dec 2008|04:44pm] |
So i work for myself as most of you know, doing design stuff freelance, but to earn extra money Ive been doing a few driving jobs for tours and shows in melb since around september i guess, Ive had the chance to drive some pretty cool bands, and some wankers, but all in all its a nice little side earner.
So a few weekends ago i got the chance to drive for one of my most favorite bands. In fact, top 3. The Bronx. They played a show at the corner, then an afternoon show at Meredith festival, which was even better than the corner hotel show in my opinion. Here are aq bunch of photos of my time with the Bronx. when they came two years ago i felt it was one of the best shows i had ever seen, and their music reminded me a lot of a time when I lost a great person in my life, as i have posted about before, to find out through working for the band that they are actually really nice and fun guys was a big relief.
Corner Hotel soundcheck

Dressing room Meredith

Backstage at Meredith

"I see yall looking at us thinking we are looking dry and clean, but lets get one thing straight, I came here to traaaaaaashhh!!!!!" soo good

After the set they did a photoshoot for rolling stone aus. sweet background (not), was fucking hilarious to watch, genuine bunch of mates having fun.

So the following weekend was the annual Fitzy Bowl BBQ, heres a few shots from that, was awesome weather, ended up staying there till like 7.30pm from 2pm, got pretty wasted, carlson put on a dress, we all walked to the studio from there and played a bit of pool then went to the tech reunion.
Ahhh shot boys.

Ice cream makeout two years on.

The next day we had an Everfresh Xmas break up style session with a bit of a paint at a spot that maka hooked up. It was really awesome hanging out with mates from the studio, I did however miss out on seeing The Don Bomb play at the arty and he covered flame trees. Spewin but thats life. Saw Parkway that night, was awesome to see some old friends that havent changed except for the fact that their band gets 10 time sbigger everytime i see em. Ridiculous.

Did a driving job this morning which consited of getting to the airport at 7.45, picking up a van, then sleeping in said van until 10.05 when the band finally arrived, then drove em to St kilda, home by lunchtime, easy $150 for the halfday. Gotta drive for them tomorrow then tuesday to falls festival, then drop at the airport new years eve morning at 6.30am. Keeping me busy, saving those dollars for the USA.
And so yeah, i guess thats it. New years eve will be Blueline at the arty, then some house party, Im not gonna drink, im sure it will be low key, Houseboat on the 2nd! gonna be the best/worst week of all of our lives. Lord of the flies style.
